It features the eponymous protagonist, Alexia Tarabotti, who is born with no soul. As a result, she neutralizes supernatural creatures by touch. Vampires retract their fangs when she touches them, and werewolves return to human form.

This is a very unique premise. It’s one that I found myself scratching my head for a bit, but I still enjoyed it.

The book is set in a fictitious Victorian England where vampires and werewolves are accepted as part of the everyday world. The vampire mythology is a little different, with vampires and werewolves thought to be caused by having excess “soul.” It’s all very Victorian and fun!

4. Into the Darkness by Rachel Vincent

Into the Darkness is a unique take on the werewolf genre, mixing Greek mythology with wolves and vampires. It’s a surprisingly effective mix that keeps Ari’s plight at the centre of the novel and mixes up almost every supernatural type, giving the story a fresh, involving feel.

The author creates a fantastic world that will pique your curiosity as Delilah slowly uncovers a side of herself she never knew existed. You’ll sympathize with her, desperate to see her succeed.

This is an excellent read and i highly recommend it to anyone who loves urban fantasy or YA fantasy romance. Rachel Vincent has written an excellent, believable werewolf story that’s sure to get your pulse racing and make you want to read more!

5. Wolf Moon by Jennifer Armentrout

The latest from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Lux series has all the hallmarks of a top-notch contemporary YA novel. Featuring the best combination of escapology, intrigue and ensuing human vs monster bloodshed since the end of the dinosaur era, the tale of Simone and Gabe is not short on thrills. This one will leave you wishing for more hunky werewolves.

This was a fun read, if not for the main characters, then at least as a setting in which to let loose and enjoy the scenery. The best part of the story was watching Simone finally find the courage to let her guard down a bit, and it wasn’t long before she was enjoying a full-on brawl, in the company of the likes of the local rabids. This was a real treat for me and i can’t wait to see where things go from here.

6. Shiver by Stephenie Meyer

When it comes to paranormal romance, you can’t go wrong with a book by Stephenie Meyer. She’s written a number of books that have sold well and have been made into blockbuster films.

‘Shiver’ is one such book. It is the story of a young girl named Grace who has watched wolves from her backyard for years. She’s especially drawn to a yellow-eyed wolf that saved her from an attack as a child.

This is a sweet love story with some interesting ideas about werewolves and their relationship with humans. But it falls a little short of what the Twilight franchise has to offer in terms of plot, character development and storytelling.

Despite her attempts to ignore him, he knows things about her she shouldn’t know. It’s clear he’s not just a Luxen, but something much more.

The book is really well written, with some very interesting twists and turns. It’s definitely a must read! If you’re looking for a thrilling story with some amazing characters then I highly recommend this book. The ending is also very good and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!
